Precision, Preparation and Performance in the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia Scholarship Series
In motorsport, success is often measured in fractions of a second.
While driver talent plays a significant role, achieving consistent results requires a combination of preparation, reliability and attention to detail behind the scenes. Every component, process and piece of equipment must perform when it matters most.
For emerging racing driver James Cittolin, competing in the highly competitive Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia Scholarship Series, that level of precision is essential.
Through his partnership with Airtec and the use of the Airtec Mobile Inflation Unit, James and the Method Motorsport team have streamlined tyre management and race-day preparation, helping maximise efficiency throughout every race weekend.
Meet James Cittolin
James Cittolin is a racing driver from Lismore, New South Wales, currently competing in the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia Scholarship Series with Method Motorsport.
Like many successful racing drivers, James began his journey in karting, competing at both state and national level before progressing into circuit racing. Since moving into Toyota 86 competition, he has focused on developing not only his driving ability but also his understanding of the technical and operational aspects of professional motorsport.
The 2026 season has marked a significant milestone in his development.
Alongside racing against some of Australia's most promising young drivers, James is undertaking an apprenticeship with Method Motorsport under the guidance of Supercars Champion and Bathurst winner Chaz Mostert. The opportunity provides valuable hands-on experience in vehicle preparation, race engineering, team operations and the professionalism required to compete at the highest level.
A career highlight so far has been securing a personal best result of 6th overall for the round at One Raceway, a strong achievement in one of Australia's most competitive development categories.
Away from the racetrack, James continues to build his technical knowledge through his apprenticeship, maintains his fitness through regular training and helps on the family farm, where he has developed the work ethic and perseverance that underpin his racing career.
The Challenge
Motorsport is a fast-moving environment where preparation time is limited and track conditions can change quickly.
For James and the Method Motorsport team, maintaining accurate and consistent tyre pressures throughout a race weekend is a critical part of maximising vehicle performance.
Between practice sessions, qualifying and races, tyre pressures often require adjustment to suit changing temperatures, track conditions and setup requirements. Any delays or inconsistencies can impact performance and reduce valuable preparation time.
The team needed a solution that would allow them to work efficiently within the paddock, minimise reliance on external air sources and ensure tyre pressure management remained quick, accurate and consistent throughout every event.
Why Airtec?
When selecting equipment partners, James wanted to align himself with brands that shared the same commitment to performance, reliability and professionalism that exists within motorsport.
Airtec immediately stood out.
Known for delivering high-quality compressed air solutions trusted across Australia, Airtec's reputation for reliability and innovation aligned closely with the values James and Method Motorsport look for in their equipment and partners.
Importantly, James' connection with Airtec extended beyond sponsorship.
Through his apprenticeship with Method Motorsport, he had already worked with Airtec products in a professional racing environment and seen first-hand how they performed under pressure.
"Having experience with Airtec products before the partnership gave me confidence that it was a brand I genuinely wanted to represent."
While evaluating portable inflation solutions, several factors influenced the decision.
Airtec's proven reliability, Australian support network and focus on quality made it a natural choice.
The fact that Airtec products were already trusted within the Method Motorsport workshop further reinforced that decision.
In a high-performance environment where precision matters, dependable equipment quickly becomes a necessity rather than a luxury.
The Solution
To support race weekend operations, James and the team incorporated the Airtec TR6 Nitrogen Inflation Unit into their workflow.
The TR6 Unit provided a portable and dependable solution for tyre pressure management, enabling quick and accurate pressure adjustments throughout practice, qualifying and race sessions.
Simple to operate and built for reliability, the unit integrated seamlessly into the team's existing processes and became an important part of race-day preparation.

The Results
The introduction of the Airtec TR6 Nitrogen Inflation Unit delivered immediate benefits across the race program.
Key Outcomes
✔ Faster and more efficient tyre pressure adjustments between sessions
✔ Improved consistency in tyre management throughout race weekends
✔ Reduced dependence on external air sources
✔ Greater confidence in vehicle preparation before heading onto the track
✔ More time available for engineering discussions, data analysis and driver coaching
For James, the benefits extend beyond operational efficiency.
The partnership has reinforced the importance of working with suppliers who understand the demands of performance environments and deliver products that can be relied upon when it matters most.
In a category where tenths and even hundredths of a second can determine results, every advantage counts.
Looking Ahead
As James continues his development through the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia Scholarship Series, preparation, consistency and continuous improvement remain key priorities.
Airtec is proud to support James and Method Motorsport as they pursue success both on and off the track.
His commitment to learning, performance and professionalism reflects many of the same values that drive Airtec's approach to product development and customer support.
We look forward to following James' journey throughout the season and being part of the team behind the scenes, helping ensure every race weekend starts with the confidence that comes from reliable equipment and trusted partnerships.
Because in motorsport, performance isn't just about what happens on the track. It's also about the preparation that happens before the lights go out.
